Abel is a kind hearted and intelligent 10‑year‑old from rural Uganda. He loves sketching in the dust near his home and dreams of becoming a teacher so he can inspire and guide other children.
Abel was abandoned by his mother when he was about one year old, as she was unprepared for the responsibilities of raising a child. After trying for a short time, she brought him to his father’s home a household already struggling in poverty. Abel’s father is rarely present, visiting only once every few years. Today, Abel lives with his grandmother, a devoted born‑again Christian, who does her best to care for him despite very limited resources. Every meal, every sip of water, and every piece of clothing comes through hard effort and scarcity. Any support given to Abel would be a true blessing and a step toward a brighter future.
